Christ the Redeemer, iconic statue of Rio de Janeiro.
The 125-foot, concrete statue of a giant Jesus with His arms outstretched is on a mountain overlooking Rio.
“Christ the Redeemer” — or “Cristo Redentor” — is perhaps the most recognizable Christian image in Latin America.
Yet Cristo’s meaning to Brazilians varies. Some see it as a tribute to Catholicism while others consider it a general symbol of welcome, with arms open wide. One of its original creators called it a “monument to science, art and religion.”
Sometimes, one original painting seems to connect with lots of hearts. Since there can only be one original, reproducing a favorite subject allows more than one person to enjoy the artwork. Each image may be purchased as a print, canvas print, framed print, metal or wood print, placed on a variety of tech or home goods, and more! Original paintings are available for purchase on my website robiebenve.com I hope you enjoy browsing my art collections. Follow me on Instagram @robiebenve to see my latest creations.

Thanks a lot Pete, the image grabbed my attention the second I saw it, I thought it would be cool to paint it. :)
